Glenacres is a large 5 star, luxury beach house situated on the beautiful World Heritage coastline in Seatown, Dorset. It’s location is amazing, only 100 yards from the beach, but set back from the cliffs enjoying superb sea and country views. The coastal area where Glenacres sits was the second wholly-natural World Heritage Site to be designated in the United Kingdom, and enjoys its status as an area of outstanding beauty.
The beach is a great place for fishermen with the occasional whale and on summer evenings the chance of dolphins can be seen passing through when feeding on the plentiful mackerel shoals. You can fossil hunt along the beach and along the cliff line with the best fossils found along the beach towards Golden Cap. Golden Cap is the highest point on the south coast, looming over Seatown. It is worth a walk to its summit with the walk beginning at Glenacres, the South West Coastal Path.
Also situated among the rolling hills on this World Heritage site and nestling under the ‘Golden Cap’ is the ‘Anchor Inn’, almost literally on the beach, the pub sits in the centre of our little cove. It was originally a smugglers haunt and the cottages above were originally the Coastguard Station.
